Want to hear the best and yet worst present this year? I have cruz'd Ebay and drooled over their selection of vintage machines. My want list is long and wonderful.

Well my daughter opened her last present Sunday from my Brother. She opened the box pulling out a vintage singer sewing book, bobbins, needle and feet ohh the shear volume everything you could want. As every item was unwrapped and goose bumps came with every rip of tape I had a feeling it was coming.

She slowly with an evil grin that only teens can give; that smirk of “ohh yeah mom I gotcha now” look; she ripped open the last big box. Packing corn spewed from the box like jumping beans and showered over the living room. The dogs jumped and barked and she laughed. I closed my eyes because I really did not want to see. I heard the squeal. It was like death bells ringing over a valley. I keep a silent prayer please don’t let them have done this to me.

In perfect mint condition a Singer 500 A; One of the machines in my top 5 list. It was like it stepped off the showroom floor right there in my living room. The green monster came over me and my daughter looked over at me and said “Hey mom look what I got Now I don’t have to use yours no more”. I looked across at my Brother 3500 which was used and abused by said child through the holidays and wondered what did I do so bad this year!

To have your dreams right there where you can smell it, taste it, and think why give it to a 15 year old? Who will never understand or treasure it.

I know this did not make the contest but I had to share. Those with Kids maybe can understand.

Life sucks......... well not really just a real pain in the rear.

I came to work singing "ding dong the @#@# is gone" but damn she had to call a ruin my day.

So I start my list of wishes

I wish to be moved to another office....... hopefully not the middle of a gang war zone....

I wish for my house to be cleaned.....and not mu husband just throwing things out.

I wish for my truck to stop making that funny noise......

I wish for gas prices to stay down... i cant afford to go to work anymore..

I wish for a huge slice of Key Lime Cake.. i really need to get that recipe.......

I wish to loose Weight ... not alot just get back to college size

I wish to for a Victorian skirt that i make to look real good .....before my daughter uses all the fabric.

I wish for more Fish in my fish tank and the catfish to quit eating them.

I wish we had 3 day weekends... kewl idea huh?

I wish for one of those Roaster things...... how can i want it and dont even know its name... i am bad....

I wish for jeans that fit...and money to buy them or talen to sew them.

Yes. i be blind with out them, i have contacts but i am too lazy to put them in and beside i ahe other things to spend money on like fabric......

Hello everyone,

I finally got my sewing shed, after the condemned area I call the library/computer. Sewing/craft room over run by my junk I gave up. Now with limited space I have to put 9 tubs of fabric creatively so I can see what I have. WAIT! I think I found a missing person in the room but I am not sure. I still have to put insulation and paneling up.


I have been saving the flat bolt boards from Hancocks to save some but most of my stash is 4 to 10 yards long. So with only so many bolt boards and no real space to put mongo tubs how can store the rest? Book shelves? Cabinets? hang them in a mobile rack thingy?

I got a dresser from my kid; antique no less and she hates it, it fits patterns perfectly, 5 pattern rows across standing up. So where does that leave the rest of my stuff?


Ideas?????

I have finally started moving into the sewing shed, slowly slowly, trying to make the most out of what little space I have. Fabric storage, where what and how!

i am running on empty

I Started my weekend Friday taking the day off to take my daughter out to lunch and shopping for her birthday. She has been putting giant boulders in my path all week long about messing this day up. My hubby took her to school and ruined my surprize. Slipped her a 20.00 and told her to tell me while we are out shopping not to forget snacks for the Daytona 500 Race. (hubbycide is legal right?)

A creeping crud of some kinda bug bit finally Friday feels like an elephant standing on my chest and I am coughing my head off. My kid blew half my pay check still have not made it to Hancocks (fabric shop) who is moving and has HUGE 1/2 off EVERYTHING sale which i did not get to go to.

Sat. the party hit and I am stuck with my child, Prozac boy, Camo King, The next Cereal Killer, And a really scary kid I do not want to know his name, One girl who is not so bright and but very bubbly and last but not least Moody girl. The twins did not make it those girls are sick and Snotty girl did not make cause she got bad grades. I ended up taking most of the kids home. I am still sick.

Sunday Tornadoes, rain, hail, wind and I still have 2 kids left and they all want to sew. They made hoodies, one print out and 2 hoodies later done great I get ready to start mine power goes out. My hoodie still not made or even cut out.

Monday I went to work I am still sick. My kid is on holiday. She cleans the house fussing the whole time and sews 2 slip dresses for her and friend. This is so not fair.

How was everyone elses weekend?

Just got a singer back from the shop this one is so my kid will leave my machines alone.

Now all I ahve to do is invade her room and get my tarot decks back!!!

I have bought several machines from goodwill and such under 30 bucks. One old I even found thrown out on the side of the road gave that one to my friend for christmas after i cleaned it up singer too pink and still kicking. I spent sometimes the 30 to 55 bucks to get them professionally cleaned and tested one I have kept and they are still going. I have a new serger I bought at walmart last year $150 on sale, a Brother I got on sale from walmart $120 my hubby got me 2 yrs ago for christmas, a Athena 2000 singer for $20 plus 55 fixing cost . Last but not least my first machine a Fashion Mate 360 singer with stitch cams/hats $10 from a yard sale cleaned oiled it myself runs nice. and my newest baby a Pfaff 130 from Sal Army $25 just needs some parts I have already got offers for it and I dont even have it running yet.
Please check your areas Freecycle groups and cheapcycles, My friend got a an industrail Pfaff FREE and maint was on $65. So for $65 bucks she got a Kick @!@@# machine.......i am soooooo jealous.

Also check machine repair shops lots of the time they have machines people leave and just do not pick up my friend got a bernina serger for $75 this way.... makes my new one seem like a toy.

Don't forget flea markes, pawn shops, hole in wall thrift shops you may never know what treasure you may find there.

Good Afternoon!

I have a question for everyone. What has been your paranormal
experiences in your life? I have had a few and honestly don't know
where to start. Most people ask do you believe in ghost, I ask how can
not believe in them. So forgive my spelling and grammer as i begin.

My earliest memory would have to be when we live on sharp st in
Oakland park where I saw lil red devils around the house. My brother
and I were around 5 and my mom told us to leave them alone and they
would leave us alone. I remember being very afraid of them. Our mother
had some lady come to the house and cleanse it.

Next we lived on another street in Oakland park and the fire place was
huanted, we saw a lamb in the fire and hand come out and stroke a
friend of my sisters hair only hers. I quess what ever it was liked
blondes cause she was the only one it bothered.

A huanted plastic plant.. we kids use to put my moms
dates under it and it would swing until it fell on them. They usually
left after that don't know why. In fact I still have that plant; my
sister and I pass it back and forth but we are too worried to offend
something to get rid of it.

My mom and I read tarot cards since a far back as I can remember the
females in my mothers line show a great talent for this but so far my
niece, my daughter and i have the most. When my mom died we pack up
all her stuff including her tarot cards in order and complete. When we
finally went thru the boxes 5 years later we found the cards in order
but the majors missing. 5 years later cleaning out a drawer my aunt
found the missing majors with 2 still missing last year we found one
and now only one card left. The cards are found in everyday places we
use everyday they just appear. I have the deck the card missing 1 year
later we are still waiting for the final card to appear.

I can go on with other stories The voice in the closet, how my
daughter knows my mother and what she was buried in but then my mom
died 2 yrs before she was born. The ghost I saw when I was really
sick. The dead relative my mom saw when she married my dad who came to
visit. . No wonder they
dont like me.

So share please let me know i am not the only one out here!

Morning,

I bought offline a sewing machine for my girl a lite wieght and sent the money in and now a month latter is still not here. I wanted to get my girl one so she will stay away from my more expensive machine and not leave me shuddering at the cost of getting it repaired everytime she uses it. She sews like a wiz create something out of nothing so maybe in a few years I can see getting her a really good one but not right now.


So if anyone has one they want to get rid of please let me know.
